How Obama Lost the War on Terror

On September 11, 2001, nine months into the Bush presidency, nineteen murderous jihadis killed almost three thousand innocent citizens on American soil.
President Bush reacted in a manly and forceful manor. He invaded Afghanistan and evicted the Taliban, thereby allowing for Afghanistan's very first freely elected government. He followed that up by invading Iraq and setting up a free democracy which led to the hanging of the other Hussein.

It is eleven months into the Obama presidency and another Jihad attack occurred on American soil. This time the attacker was a Major in the US Army, but more to the point, he was a Jihadi sleeper agent. The Radical Islamists with whom we are at war, decided to check the fortitude of the new president. They checked and he flinched. Obama refused to call this attack an act of war. He refused to get excited about it. He has shown no manly attitude toward making the Jihadis pay.

Instead, Obama is trying to pretend that it was the act of a lone nut who coincidentally happens to be a Muslim. Not that this had any bearing on the attack...Oh no. It was merely coincidental that he was shouting Allou Akbar as he shot unarmed men and women. Obama says "we shouldn't "Jump to conclusions" about Major Hasans' religion.

It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that after 9-11, President Bush kept us 100% safe from further attack and President Obama failed to do the same...could it?

Rolling over and showing his yellow belly to the enemy is the exact moment in history that Barack Hussein Obama lost the global War On Terror.

Oversight responsibility

I hear Senator Obama repeat the canard that the Presidents Administration failed to properly provide oversight to the financial sector of our economy, thereby making President Bush the culprit for the market collapse.
WRONG.
The party charged with Oversight is congress. Congress, both House and Senate regularly have hearings and subpoena people they don't like, in an attempt to provide oversight. The Presidents role is executive. To execute the law. He can neither compel suspects to a hearing nor can he force their testimony. Congress has these powers. They just fail to use them. Too bad the cigarette executives aren't those who caused our financial mess. Congress would surly have acted then.
In the House Barney Frank heads the committee who is supposed to monitor the economic affairs. In the Senate, Chris Dodd is the Committee Chair.

Senator McCain needs to set this straight. Something like;

Senator Obama errs in his definition of just who has oversight responsibility. His confusion is understandable, considering the Jr. Senator from Illinois has spent hardly any time in the well of the Senate.

Although the American Mainstream Press is doing it's very best not to investigate Barack Hussein Obamas past, things keep popping up which are difficult to explain.

For example, Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. A blatant and obvious America hater and bigot. Obama sat in his pews for 20 years. When the racist and seditious rantings became public, Obama declared I never knew he was a scumbag.

The idiot, anti-white, white boy, Reverend Michael Phelger, who has been Obamas conduit to the insane, racist Louis Farrakhan pops up on the public radar and Obama quickly claims that I never knew he was a scumbag.

Next we find out about Rashid Khalidi. Khalidi is a former spokesman for the terrorist PLO. His group Arab American Action Network, was funded by the Woods Foundation, on whose board of directors, Obama sat. After this association became known, Obama declaired, say it with me now...I never knew he was a scumbag.

Then we have the celebrity terrorist university professor and political mentor of Obama, Bill Ayres. An avowed America hater. A bomber, (but not brave enough to be a suicide bomber) of police stations and federal buildings. When the curtain is lifted on their association, Obama sings the same refrain, I never knew he was a scumbag.

Who is the next scumbag to be outed and find out Obama never knew him, or her.

Obama Sinks To A New Low

In July when Senator Obama finally made his world tour and managed to stop by Iraq, he made sure to have a visit with Iraqi officials. In this meeting he let them know in no uncertain terms that any withdrawal plans made with the current administration, would not be honored by his imminent rein.
These claims are made by Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zabri according to The Washington Prowler at the American Spectator.
The Obama campaign is in a flurry trying to decide how to deal with this revelation. They have a few serious problems trying to make up plausible excuses.
Some of the problems include;

The three problems, according to campaign sources: The report was true, there were at least three other people in the room with Obama and Zebari to confirm the conversation, and there was concern that there were enough aggressive reporters based in Baghdad with the sources to confirm the conversation that to deny the comments would create a bigger problem.

Only to someone like Obama is the truth considered a problem.
For a sitting junior senator and an erstwhile presidential candidate to directly intrude into and attempt to derail international diplomacy is unacceptable.
For a presidential candidate to insist that troop withdrawals be put on hold until after he is inaugurated, so that he can be the one to claim, "I, myself, have personally ended Bush's war ."
Dirty
Unmanly
Undignified
Dishonest
That is the wrong kind of change for me.

Today the stock market dropped over 500 points. While that is a serious drop in value, it is not the crises the Obamassiah proclaims it to be. Our self anointed Savior, with all his vast experience in economics declared that this is the worst economic downturn since the great depression.

Holy crap! Five minutes on the internet would have shown him that it is the worst decline in six years. Remember the aftermath of 9-11? Obama truly does have a pre 9-11 mentality.

Responsible civic leaders should be busy trying to head off a disastrous run on the market. Trying to instill confidence in the greatest system of wealth creation in history.
President Bush is urging confidence, Senator McCain and Governor Palin are promoting confidence, even Donald Trump is on the news urging confidence.
Juxtapose those reactions with Obama and Bidens rantings. Woe unto us...Doom and Gloom...The end of the world...Were all gonna die. No really, what he said is,

"What’s more fundamental than the ability to find a job that pays the bills and can raise a family?” Obama asked, his voice rising. “What’s more fundamental than knowing that your life savings is secure, and that you can retire with dignity? What’s more fundamental than knowing that you’ll have a roof over your head at the end of the day?”

But, frankly all I see is fear mongering. A tried and true liberal tool. Remember Clinton lying about the worst economy in like, forever?

Please, if we can return to Adult World...Our economy was super-hot shortly after 9-11 and it continued to grow, red hot untill 2 years ago. Now, what happened two years ago? He says he accidentally pushed the wrong button six times!

I watched the interview on the west coast after having already read the transcript from the east coast broadcast. I was surprised to find parts edited out. The parts where Charlie lied, or more exactly, where he chopped Gov. Palins quotes up to fit into his gotcha game. Unless, he was amateurish enough to skip his due diligence in fact checking and just took a lefty blogs word for the quote.
In my day, there was an expression for this king of "journalism". The expression was "Yellow Sheet Journalism"

The new ad from Senator Obama slams Senator McCain for not being able to write e-mail, as if that disqualifies him from leading the country in the 21st century.
From the AP story about the computer illiterate ad:

"Our economy wouldn't survive without the Internet, and cyber-security continues to represent one our most serious national security threats," [Obama spokesman Dan] Pfeiffer said. "It's extraordinary that someone who wants to be our president and our commander in chief doesn't know how to send an e-mail."

Obama will be very lucky if McCain doesn't come out with an ad that says Obama isn't qualified to be Commander-in-Chief because he doesn't have military experience, doesn't know how to fly a fighter jet or withstand a determined enemy. To date Obama's greatest enemy has been his own big mouth.
As a reminder to Obama and his handlers. John McCain has made clear in interviews in the past that the extensive Viet Cong torture made using a keyboard impossible, as well as a comb and tying his shoes. As with these last limitations, his wife, Cindy assists him in his on-line endeavors.

Suppose a conservative woman has a talk show. She has interviewed Senator McCain twice, has openly and publicly campaigned for him.
His opponent selects a black male vice presidential candidate and she refuses to speak with him. Do you suppose this situation would be met with questions of racism? Of course it would.

Oprah herself says she refuses to use her show as a political vehicle and therefore declines to have any candidates on at all. I have no idea how she can maintain this fiction when she has given her couch to Obama once and the Obamas a second time.
Can Oprah's personal support be really separated from an endorsement on a show with the same name?

It is time to focus on the next battlefront-Afghanistan.
Afghanistan was the first field of battle after 9-11, but we switched to Iraq, in what history will call one of the most shrewd military decisions ever. Fighting in Iraq drew the jihadis there in droves where they were promptly escorted to hell by our unbeatable fighting forces.
The key to Afghanistan is not to copy the "surge" model that worked so well in Iraq. Moving the 4th ID with tanks, Strikers and Bradley Fighting vehicles just won't do in the mountains of Afghanistan. Even without an air force the terrorists can command the skies by shooting down from towering mountains. This is a war better suited to marines and special forces, who can draw upon cobras and ospreys. Fine, the marines are there and doing very well, we need to get better co-operation from our NATO allies. Each of our partners has special forces troops they can send in. Some are doing well, Britain and France come quickly to mind. But others, like Germany are failing miserably.
I expect a large performance boost from some of the laggards as soon as General Petraeus takes overall command.

As I watch the Obama World Tour and Traveling Circus wend it's way around the world I keep hearing Emerson, Lake and Palmers' Classic song, Karn Evil #9. I was fortunate enough to see them perform that song at the California Jam in April 1974. This was the greatest concert ever. The man is one part snake-oil salesman with his "This is our moment. This is our time. This is our chance" spiel. Deciphered as "Your only chance to cure all the ill of the world is to vote me in now. Any delay means you miss your chance forever." Don't look too closely, you might find this is stolen from the U2 frontman, Bono in July 2005 Live 8 Concert.

He is one part con artist. He begins his German speech by saying, I am not a candidate, I'm a citizen of the world, by the way here is an Obama '08 pin. And, I can't go see our wounded troops because this here is a campaign trip.

Several stumblers have been blocked for criticizing the former 'Community Affairs Officer' Barry Conway for his heavy handed treatment of conservatives. He frequently shut down conservatives soley for their political views. Nice diversity, eh?
I admit I saw it coming, but my criticism was rather tame compared to some others.
My sin was to post this;

On the left we have Charles "Chuckie" Schumer the senior democrat senator from New York.
He releases a bellyaching letter wherein he exposes his tantrum about "Big Banking" and causes the collapse of the nations fifth largest bank, IndeMac. Thanks Chuckie, I have money in there.
Democrats seem to hate any 'Big' industry, unless they can milk it for all it's worth. Then when the FED berates him for his stupidity he grabs a microphone and blames everyone but himself.

On the right, we have President Bush. According to any lefty, he is the dumbest cluck to ever hit the big city, even though he continually trounces the democrat party. Our president became tired of the obstruction and lack of leadership coming for the House and Senate and unilaterally removed the presidential order blocking offshore oil drilling from the Continental Shelf. democrats cried, "foul" and the price of a barrel of oil dropped $9.00 immediately.

Hmmm. Democrats repeat the canard in unison, "We can't drill our way out" of the gas price crises. Yet, the simple act of threatening to do so lowered the cost of oil.
Follow this theory toward the conclusion and we can speculate on the following.
1. A threat to drill lowers the price, therefore;
2. A plan to drill should lower the price by a greater margin
3. A nationwide goal similar to President Kennedy's space initiative should cut the price way down. Everyone knows that if Americans want to do something, it gets done. If we want it sooner rather than later it gets done in a shorter time span than anyone thought possible.

How will History Remember George W. Bush?

I am frequently asked, "How do you think history will treat George W. Bush"? My answer has evolved slightly over the course of his presidency.
My first impression was that he would be just another liberal republican and hardly warrant a blip on the radar of history. Then came September 11, 2001. President George W. Bush rose to the occasion magnificently. In less than four weeks he attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan. That government, for lack of a better word was toppled in fairly short order, although insurgent fighting continues six years later.
The next country to run afoul of Mr. Bush's righteous ire was Iraq. In my opinion, he acquiesced to the democrat, I'm-afraid-of-war, party and delayed the invasion for too long, more than a year. The invasion of Iraq, once begun was very successful, especially when measured against other like size invasions. Invasions of this type historically cost tens of thousands of soldiers lives. The invasion and toppling of the Saddam Hussein dictatorship took less than two months, a remarkable feat by any objective standard, considering Iraq possessed the fifth largest army in the world.
While the fighting since then has not been mistake free or a cake walk, it has been very successful. In six years we have lost less than six thousand soldiers and marines to combat violence. We have had a very small number of prisoners taken, thank God, since we all know what happens to captives of those animals.
The combat related death rate in Iraq is 3.92 deaths per 1,000 person-years. Compare that to the civilian US rate of 8.42 per 1,000 in 2003 and you will see that living in the USA is twice as deadly as fighting in Iraq. Not because Iraq is not dangerous, but because our troops are that good and that careful.
Add to this Mr. Bush's ability to squelch his ego sufficiently that he can listen to and learn from the military experts on the ground. He appointed General Patraeus leader of the effort, agreed to the 'surge' concept which has undeniably lead us to the point of victory.
My last evolution in Mr. Bush's historical placement is due to Senator Obamas likely assention to the office of President of the United States in January 2009. From everything I can see, hear and read about Mr. Obama's plans for the prosecution of the war on terror, such as they are, I perceive that he has no stomach for said war. That indeed, he intends to quit as repidly as he can with out appearing too cowardly. Of course such a pullout will embolden what remains of al Qaeda and Iran, and will likely spell the doom for Iraq's fledgling democracy.
In the aftermath of September 11, 2001 not one of us thought we could go seven years without another attack but President Bush has seen us through safely. If Mr. Obama surrenders the war on terror to the enemy and we get hit again during his term he will get a double whammy of criticism, and rightly so.
History will compare George Bush on his own merits, which should stand him in good stead, but he has the added advantage of being followed by what will no doubt be a dismal failure, Barrack Hussain Obama.
Added together, this is a recipe for Mr. Bush ranking rather high on the list for successful American Presidents.

In seconds, enemy rounds knocked down the platoon sergeant and fatally wounded one Marine, hit while running to another’s aid in the ensuing seven or eight minutes of gun-blazing combat on Aug. 2.
Valles doesn’t consider himself more special than any other Marine there that day.

“I did my job,” he said. “If I would have gone down, they would have done the same thing I did. They’re not going to leave me behind. This medal isn’t for myself. It’s definitely not for me. It’s to represent the Marines that were there that day and the one that is not here.

Back on July 2, Barack Obama read his "public service" address, and it contained this line that hasn't received much notice:

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set... We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."

What the Sam Hill? There's nothing at his Service page (barackobama.com/issues/service) discussing anything near such a program. He wants to increase the size of Americorps, create a "Homeland Security Corps", create other specialized groups, and give more power and equipment to the Reserves and Guard. But, considering that the U.S. military budget is nearly half a trillion dollars and they've got bunker busters and nuclear submarines and things like that, one might expect some sort of inkling of a plan.

And, of course, there's the creepy nature of his proposal, but nothing new there.

You asked for change...Is this what you expected comrade? Did you want to be drafted into the Citizens Patrol? Change indeed. Watch what you ask for...You might just get it.

Today American and Coalition forces Forces successfully conducted an operation targeting the al-Qaeda emir of the section of Baghdad, who has directed deadly car bomb attacks in the city.
From the MNF-Iraq:
BAGHDAD — Coalition forces killed eight terrorists and detained 14 suspected terrorists during coordinated operations targeting a senior al-Qaeda leader west of Tarmiyah over the past two days.
Forces conducted an operation yesterday targeting the al-Qaeda emir of the northern belts around Baghdad, who is associated with deadly car bomb attacks in the city.
Surveillance indicated the senior leader and his associates had entered a building in a remote area. Coalition forces declared the target hostile and called in an air strike. Secondary explosions ignited after the initial strike, indicating there were explosives inside. Forces assess five terrorists were killed in the strike.
When ground forces approached the site to assess damage, a terrorist engaged them with small-arms fire. Countering in self-defense, forces returned fire and killed the armed man. The ground forces resumed their approach to the building but discovered multiple fighting positions, heavy machine guns, booby traps and vehicles wired with explosives. Coalition forces evacuated the area and called in air assets to destroy the enemy weapons.
Acting on intelligence gained from yesterday’s operation, Coalition forces conducted additional coordinated raids in the area this morning. During the first of those, forces used explosives to breach a door and enter a targeted building. A woman standing behind the door was killed in the explosion. Iraqis on the scene told Coalition forces her husband had told her to block the door from the Americans.
As ground forces secured the building, one man was discovered concealing himself in another room, armed with grenades and a rifle aimed at the assault force. Coalition forces engaged the armed man and killed him. As they secured additional buildings on the scene, a man rushed to a window and attempted to pull a rifle from behind the curtains. Forces reacted to the hostile threat by engaging the man and killing him.
During a raid on another building, ground forces brought the occupants of a building outside to secure the area. One man, after previously being compliant, turned and rushed back into the building. Coalition forces, perceiving a hostile threat, engaged the man and wounded him. He was treated on site and taken to a military medical facility for further treatment. He and six other suspected terrorists were detained during the raid.
Coalition forces detained three more suspected terrorists during raids on four more buildings in the area.
"Taking down the bombing network in Baghdad is a top priority for us," said U.S. Army Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, a Multi-National Force-Iraq spokesman. "We will continue targeting the leaders who coordinate and execute murderous attacks on the Iraqi people."

All of this leads me to two questions;
First, I wonder what Harry Reid has to say about all this. Are we still "losing"?
Second, How's your blood pressure today Harry? Through the roof? Better take a couple days off and let it settle.

Tuesday Iraqi citizens turned on al Quaeda terrorist who had fled into a Mosque for saftey. The citizens stormed the Mosque, ousted the terrorists and reported them to Coalition forces.
From MNF-Iraq:
Fed up with violent and indiscriminate terror tactics, a group of more than 80 residents of the Adhamiyah district, on the east side of the Iraqi capital, banded together Sunday to oust suspected terrorists from a local mosque.
The uprising led to a string of events over the next 12 hours that ultimately resulted in the arrest of 44 suspected terrorists and the capture of three weapons caches.
The initial takeover of the Abu Hanifa Mosque occurred at about 2 p.m., apparently triggered by news that terrorists had murdered two relatives of a prominent local sheik. As the news spread, angry residents joined the sheik to storm the mosque, long believed to be a sanctuary for terrorists operating in the area, and ousted the suspected terrorists inside from the building.

That's strike two.

On Monday a Senior leader of the terrorist group al-Qaeda, who was responsible for bombings and inciting sectarian violence was killed by American and Coalition forces.

From MNF-Iraq:
“Yesterday, the government of Iraq announced that the Coalition force killed a senior al Qaeda terrorist, Haitham Sabah al Badri,” said U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Mark Fox, spokesman for Multi-National Force-Iraq. “He was killed east of Samara on August second.”
In addition to both the February 2006 and June 2007 bombings of the Golden Mosque, Al Badri is believed to have been involved in an Aug. 28 attack on a Samara checkpoint that killed 29, as well as the June 23, 2006, bombing of the Kirkuk courthouse. His body was positively identified by family members after the Coalition air strike.
During the operation, Coalition force members raided a series of four buildings associated with al Badri, Multi-National Force-Iraq officials reported. About four armed men moved from the targeted buildings into outdoor tactical fighting positions in what ground forces viewed as a set-up to ambush approaching Coalition force members. Responding to the hostile threat, they called in close-air support.
The strike killed al Badri and three other terrorists, one of them a foreign fighter. Ground forces also found weapons on site and detained seven other suspected terrorists.

To which I add, in as grown-up a manner as I can muster...Hahahahaahaha! Hahahahahaha! Haahahahahaha! Welcome sucker to your paradise and your virgins. Nobody says the virgins are female or even human. It leaves one hope.

I, like everyone else, will have to wait for September's report from Gen. Petraeus before making more definitive judgments. But I know for certain that three things are different in Iraq now from any other time I've seen it.

1. Iraqis are uniting across sectarian lines to drive Al Qaeda in all its disguises out of Iraq, and they are empowered by the success they are having, each one creating a ripple effect of active citizenship.

2. The Iraqi Army is much more capable now than it was in 2005. It is not ready to go it alone, but if we keep working, that day will come.
3. Gen. Petraeus is running the show. Petraeus may well prove to be to counterinsurgency warfare what Patton was to tank battles with Rommel, or what Churchill was to the Nazis.

And yes, in case there is any room for question, Al Qaeda still is a serious problem in Iraq, one that can be defeated. Until we do, real and lasting security will elude both the Iraqis and us.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said Monday that a strongly positive report on progress on Iraq by Army Gen. David Petraeus likely would split Democrats in the House and impede his party's efforts to press for a timetable to end the war.

Clyburn, in an interview with the washingtonpost.com video program PostTalk, admitted the Democrats will be unhappy if it turns out that America is winning in Iraq. He did include some gobbledygook about supporting or troops, but nobody believes that. The big story is that a house leader put it on the record that it is not Democrat policy to win the war.

The Democrats have positioned themselves (again) to gain power if the US loses the war. This puts them actively opposed to the troops they mildly claim to "support". With friends like this, I hope to never be in a position to need support from Democrats.

Pardon me, but isn't supporting the enemy against our troops an act of treason?

KHALIS — Approximately 75 tribal sheiks and local leaders gathered at the Iraqi Army Headquarters in Khalis, Iraq, to discuss grievances between tribes, determine solutions for security and services, and unite to defeat al-Qaida and other terrorist organizations in the Khalis area.
“Here, right now, I am denouncing the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Qaida,” said another sheik who later swore on the Quran to uphold the conditions of the peace agreement.
Some conditions of the agreement include cooperating with the ISF, stopping tribal conflicts such as kidnappings and murders, reporting and removing improvised explosive devices, assisting in recruiting for ISF, dissolving illegal militias, and solving disputes between tribes through local meetings with the government and other tribal sheiks.
After the meeting, the sheiks enjoyed a feast and agreed to meet in the near future to continue their efforts at uniting and solving the issues of their people.

Iraqis are like a lot of people in that they will side with the winner. They just need to know who the winner will be. Until then they will sit on the sidelines and watch their own country spiral down into a pit of violence and poverty. It seems that they are being convinced that the good guys are winning.

The mayor, formerly named Antonio Villa, changed his name to include his wifes name Ragosa as a penance for an earlier foray into adultery. I cannot hear the elongated version of his name without being reminded that he is an oath breaking adulterer.
In the latest scandal the mayor has been cheating on his wife Katrina with a Spanish language TV reporter from Telemundo named, Mirthala Salinas. Villaraigosa reiterated that his relationship with Mirthala Salinas is a personal matter and he appealed for privacy.
The mayor admits to a nine month relationship with Salinas, however people have seen him skulking around her apartment for 2 years. The reason for the 9 months admission is because Salinas was removed from her Telemundo position of covering the mayor 9 months ago.
Apparently Los Angeles Democrats are more shocked that a reporter would sleep with her subject than that a mayor would cheat on his wife with one of his.

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition Forces detained three suspected terrorists during operations in Mosul targeting al-Qaeda in Iraq senior leaders Tuesday.

Coalition Forces captured an alleged al-Qaeda in Iraq leader in Mosul who is believed to have been promoted within the organization after recent Coalition operations created numerous vacancies in the terrorist leadership structure. ( I just love a good understatement) Intelligence reports also indicate the individual is responsible for mortar and sniper attacks against Iraqi forces and a December attack against Coalition Forces. Two other suspected terrorists were also detained during the Tuesday operation.

“We’re putting continuous pressure on al-Qaeda in Iraq leaders and their networks,” said Maj. Marc Young, an MNF-I spokesperson. “We will continue attacking these networks so Iraqis can live peacefully, without fear of vicious terrorist attacks.”

"Iraqi Army and Coalition Forces entered the residence to detain Said Jaffer for questioning. When the insurgent commander brandished a pistol, the team verbally instructed him in Arabic to drop his weapon. However, Jaffer refused to comply and the team engaged the insurgent with well-aimed and proportional fire...Intelligence shows a clear link to his group partnering with outside Persian (read Iranian-Sparker911) extremists, whose goal is to destroy the legitimate government of Iraq and create instability in the region...Coalition Forces served as advisers during the operations. No Iraqi or Coalition Forces members were injured during the operation. (Iraqis are stepping up-Sparker911)

Coalition Forces captured a suspected vehicle-borne improvised explosive device cell leader southeast of Baghdad. During the raid, the ground forces also detained eight suspected terrorists tied to the bombing cell.

A Private Matter? I'm sorry if you find it inconvenient that Jr was arrested driving down my freeway in excess of 100 MPH. That is not a private matter, it is a matter of public safety, compounded by the fact that Jr was under the influence of drugs and in possession of narcotics.

Will we see another California style Celebrity Catch and Release Show? Will another wealthy Prince of the Realm be treated better than the rest of us, because of who he is, or rather who his daddy is? Shades of Paris Hilton.

If it were me, or someone else without mega bucks, the prosecution would be screaming for prison time regarding the narcotics possession. I'm talking felony possession of Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall. They would insist on felony DUI charges due to the high rate of speed and the fact that Jr does this with unfortunate regularity. In this case I agree with my hypothetical prosecutor. Jr needs to be stopped before someone dies. The life we save may be his, or yours.

I used to wonder why the John Birch Society never made it out of the trailer parks. Now I know why. The dim bulb president of the Birchers, John F. Mcmanus, not to be confused with the terrific writer, Patric F. Mcmanus, writes in the JBS website that Dick Cheney is a Svengali/Darth Vader morph who convinced Presidents Bush 41 and 43 to attack and invade Iraq for undisclosed but supposedly discredited reasons.

Ok, Mr John F Mcmanus et al; the real reasons why we are in Iraq are the same reasons why we are in Afghanistan, and there are three of them.

To have a presence in the Middle East to stabilize the region and to defend Israel.
The United States was dis-invited from the Saudi Arabian kingdom by our supposed friends.
(To fully understand this one, I have included a map) The United States is now in control of 2485 km of Iranian border. 935 km in the east, along the Afghan/Iraq border and 14450 in the west along Iraq/Iran's' border. We have control of about 1,100,000 sq km in the region now. Not to mention the NATO ally Turkey's border in the north, or the 3 to 4 carrier groups in the Persian Gulf.

So you see the real reason we are in Iraq is as plain as the map on the table. It is not about Iraq...it is about IRAN. Nobody cares about Iraq. Those messed up people were in a mess of their own making. Whatever happens over there, their situation cannot be worse than what they had. A vicious dictator and constant war with Iran, Kuait and the UN.

Notably absent from the fracas is Americas Guarantors of Separation of Church and State, the vaunted and mighty American Civil Liberties Union. How loud would they be if it was Christians and not Muslims praying in the school. I suppose they think prayer beads are more dangerous than a suicide vest.

In stunning bit of (non) objective "journalism" today, HAMID AHMED from the Associated (with the enemy) Press filed this future Pulitzer Prize winner.

Notice that almost all of the claims and assertions made by Americans are refuted
by Iraqis or are challenged by quotation marks.

"The U.S. military said it conducted two pre-dawn raids in Sadr City,
Baghdad's largest Shiite slum, killing 26 "terrorists" who attacked
U.S. troops with small arms fire, rocket-propelled grenades and
roadside bombs."

The use of the quotation marks is liberal code for "Uh huh, sure they
were". Meanwhile those trustworthy Iraqis are so apparently incapable
of dishonesty they neither require the quotation marks nor even names
attributed to their comments.

"But Iraqi police and hospital officials said all the dead were civilians
killed in their homes... (t)he Iraqi officials, who spoke on condition of

Congratulations to the Victorious American People.

Today the American people convinced the Senate to ditch the Comprehensive Amnesty Bill. I got a perverse enjoyment in watching the self righteous Grand Schemers squirm while they got a reminder of just who really runs things in this country. It was obvious how little they enjoyed the lesson. I wonder how much scotch, or more likely tequila, the senior senator from Mexachusetts
will need to get through this defeat.
Americans flooded the phone lines, filled email in boxes to overflowing, burned up the phone lines and bent ears into unrecognizable shapes as they let their representatives in the Upper Chambers now that the Silent Majority has gained its voice. With a resounding shout from coast to coast citizens paraphrased Ronald Wilson Reagan's' famous line, "Mr. Blabbermouth, Put Up This Wall!"
God it feels good to be an American.

The only draw-back to this almost hillarious farce is what he included near the end of his artical;

Failed ex-President Jimmy Carter and Democrat presidential wannabe Dennis Kucinich have answered Hamas’ call. They agree that the Hamas takeover is connected to the cut-off of funding to the PA. In response they have joined calls by Hawaii Rep. Neil Abercrombie for American funding of Islamist terror.

Washington Post agrees with my Post Yesterday

The Washington Post has an article in it's online issue today that agrees with my post of yesterday, that the various states in the Union are enacting tough anti-illegal immigrant laws. For example:
"At least 18 states have enacted laws concerning illegal immigrants. Most of the legislation is seen as punitive, and it reflects legislators' anger at the federal government's inability to seal the southern border and at provisions in the Senate bill that would allow the 12 million illegal immigrants already here a path to citizenship."
While they don't attribute these new regulations and laws to Washington's new found zeal to pass Immigration Reform, they do make my case for me.

Why the Mad Rush to Legalization?

From the beginning I have wondered why the mad rush to get the illegals legal status. It almost seems to be an obsessive compulsion in Washington. This whole Comprehensive Reform issue should be done in a reasonable measured manner.

It turns out that since localities across the country are enacting and enforcing restrictions on employing and renting to illegals, business owners and landlords are afraid they may go to jail for what they are doing. To head this off, they have got Washington moving at full speed to make a generous Federal law, which the local yahoos can't get around. Smooth.
